United Church Camping Award 2006–2008

At Connections 2008 we plan to continue the celebration to recognize outstanding staff and volunteers associated with United Church Camping and the extraordinary contributions they make to Camping Ministry and, most importantly, to the lives of children and youth who attend camps.

All camps are encouraged to nominate an individual who has demonstrated an energetic commitment toward the continued success of his or her camp (only one nomination per camp, please). Download the forms and return your nomination by the deadline of June 30, 2008.

Camping Standards Manual

The Camping Standards Manual, Revised Edition 2007, in effect for the 2007 season, is now available online. Each camp will receive a printed copy in April.

The site visit tool has been incorporated into this manual to facilitate identifying the measures used to determine compliance.

For camps that may need assistance in writing policies and procedures, the following "Guidelines for Developing Policies and Procedures" may prove helpful. The guidelines address the process and addresses formatting and language.

If you have any questions about the Camping Standards, please email Bev Oag or telephone (416) 231-7680, ext. 4094.

In the near future, this site will become part of the new united-church.ca. Until then, high-priority updates will be made to this site. Thanks for your patience during this time of transition. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Judy Sullivan.

Please note: we no longer display the full email address, e.g. <username@domain-name.ca> on any of our website pages. The reason for this decision is a strategy to cope with a huge amount of unsolicited and junk email. However, if your browser supports javascript, you may click on the e-mail address links, e.g. webminder at uccancamping.org and an email session should open in a separate browser window. If you are experiencing difficulties, please contact the webminder for assistance.
